LHADHEN GREAT PRAYERS FESTIVAL of the Gelugpa tradition ( GELUG MONLAM OF CANADA ) was organized for the first time at the Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre in Toronto on March 20, 21 & 22. His Eminence Tulku Neten Rinpoche accepted the request from sanghas of the Gelugpa tradition to become the first LAMA of the new Gelug Monlam Group of Canada. The main purpose of this Great Prayers Festival is to pray for world peace, good health and generate conducive conditions for everyone to live in harmony.

Đại Lễ cầu nguyện của truyền thống Hoàng Mạo Canada được tổ chức lần đầu tiên tại Trung Tâm Văn Hóa của cộng đồng liên hiệp người Tây Tạng-Canada ở Toronto ngày 20, 21 và 22 tháng 3.

Tôn Đức Tulku Neten Rinpoche chấp nhận sự thỉnh cầu của chư tăng thuộc phái Hoàng Mạo Gelugpa để nhận lãnh nhiệm vụ làm vị Lạt Ma đầu tiên của hội đồng Gelug Monlam Canada. Mục đích chính của Đại Lễ nầy là cầu nguyện cho thế giới được hòa bình, sức khỏe, những điều kiện tốt và thuận lợi cho mọi người để sống trong sự an lành và hòa hợp.

In 511 of the Tibetan Lunar Calendar Year, Buddha Shakyamuni performed miracle after miracle during the first fortnight of the Lunar New Year. Finally, in the city of Shravasti, Buddha accepted the challenge by the six rival teachers to a contest of miraculous performances. The rival teachers were eclipsed almost immediately, as Buddha produced spectacular manifestations. In order to commemorate the Buddha's spiritual victory over the six rival teachers, the Great Prayers Festival was established by the Great Indian King Ashoka. Then in 1409, Je Lama Tsongkhapa offered to the Lhasa Jowo Rinpoche a precious crown of Five Buddha Families. From that day, the Lhadhen Great Prayer Festival was established. The noble tradition is preserved and is practiced in the same way to this day for 606 years.
