HISTORY:
There were sixteen renowned Arhats in India. The
Tulku Neten Rinpoche’s
lineage can
be traced back to
the 11th Arhat,
named
Lam Tran Ten
Pharpha LamChung (Sanskrit
name ChudaPantaka).

The Arhat Pharpha LamChung (ChudaPantaka)
was reincarnated many times in both India and Tibet as Mahasiddha
Bodhisattvas and became
Tulku Neten Kunga Bum,
one of the six Neten
disciples of the Great Lama
Je Tsongkhapa.
The 1st Tulku Neten Kunga
Bum BUILT THE JUNGPA MONASTERY in Lithang-Kham, Tibet.
The present His Eminence Tulku Neten Rinpoche Tenzin Gelek was born
just over one year after the passing away of the 8th reincarnated
Tulku Neten Ngawang Lobsang Kunga.
The
present Tulku Neten Rinpoche came to the SeraMey Monastery in South
India and became the ordained monk at the age of nine.
In 1986,
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama graciously enthroned the present Tulku Neten Rinpoche Tenzin Gelek
as the 9th reincarnation of
the Tulku Neten's lineage, the HIGHEST THRONE HOLDER LAMA
of the Jungpa
Monastery in Lithang, Kham region, Tibet.
By this time, he has been already a great scholar at
the SeraMey Monastic University.
In 1994,
His Eminence Tulku Neten Rinpoche Tenzin Gelek secured the
highest Geshe
Lharampa Degree (Ph.D in Buddhist Sutra Studies)
from the
SeraMey Monastic University in India.
Soon
afterwards, he joined the Gyumed Tantric
Monastery for higher Tantric studies. After strenuous studies
and practice, he appeared for the final examination in the presence
of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Abbots of Gyumed and other
monasteries. He received the
advanced degree of Ngagrampa
(Highest degree in Tantric Studies),
then accepted the position
of Discipline Master and taught at the Gyumed Tantric Monastery.
Later on he went back and taught Dharma to sanghas at the SeraMey
Monastic University.
From the
year 2003 to 2009, the present His Eminence The 9th Tulku
Neten Rinpoche Tenzin Gelek
completely REBUILT HIS JUNGPA MONASTERY which has been previously destroyed
in Lithang-Kham,
TIBET.
Later,
next to his Jungpa monastery,
from
the year 2014 to 2017, a New Prayer Hall (Nyungne Lhakhang) has been
supported to build by His Eminence Tulku Neten Rinpoche for people in Jungpa-Lithang to practise.
In 2006,
His Eminence The 9th Tulku
Neten Rinpoche Tenzin Gelek became Canadian Citizen and resided in Toronto, Canada.
He travels
extensively across the globe for public talks and giving teachings
to religious, educational, healthcare and social institutions.
On April 4, 2024:
His Eminence Tulku
Neten Rinpoche was appointed by His Holiness the 14th Dalai
Lama as His Eminence Kgyabje
KHEN RINPOCHE NETEN TULKU
TENZIN GELEK, the 92nd Abbot
of the SeraMey Monastery
in India.
The Enthronement Ceremony was held on June 24,
2024 in the SeraMey Monastery.

YEAR 2014-2017
After a few years supporting
the Jungpa Monastery which has been newly rebuilt, His Eminence
Tulku Neten Rinpoche built a NEW PRAYER
HALL (Nyungne
Lhakhang) next to his
nine lifetimes Jungpa monastery, for
people in Jungpa-Lithang to pray and practise. As the THRONE
HOLDER LAMA of Jungpa-Lithang,
His Eminence Tulku Neten Rinpoche
sponsored to construct a new Hall, including a Prayer
hall, a big kitchen and rooms for people to stay, pray,
take retreats and do various Dharma activities. This place belongs to his nine lifetimes Jungpa monastery.
