The 11th Great Prayer Festival
Lhaden Monlam Chenmo Canada was organized at the Tibetan-Canadian Cultural Centre on
40 Titan Road Toronto, Ontario Canada
His Eminence Khen
Rinpoche Neten Tulku,
Abbot of the SeraMey Monastery in India, of the Jam Tse Cho Ling Dharma
Centres in Toronto and Calgary in Canada and the First THRONE HOLDER of the
Great Prayers Festival Lhaden (Gelug) Monlam Monlam Canada which
He and sanghas commitee have established this Great Prayers Festival since the year 2015,
again gave Dharma talks and
prayed together with sanghas of Gelugpa lineage and buddhists.
The main purpose of this Great
Prayers Festival is to pray for world peace, good health and
generate conducive conditions for everyone to
live in harmony.

In 511 of the Tibetan Lunar Calendar Year, Buddha
Shakyamuni performed miracle after miracle during the first
fortnight of the Lunar New Year. Finally, in the city of Shravasti,
Buddha accepted the challenge by the six rival teachers to a contest
of miraculous performances. The rival teachers were eclipsed almost
immediately, as Buddha produced spectacular manifestations. In order
to commemorate the Buddha's spiritual victory over the six rival
teachers, the Great Prayers Festival was established by the Great
Indian King Ashoka. Then in 1409, Je Lama Tsongkhapa offered to the
Lhasa Jowo Rinpoche a precious crown of Five Buddha Families. From
that day, the Lhadhen Great Prayer Festival was established. The
noble tradition is preserved and is practiced in the same way to
this day for 606 years.
The main purpose
of this Great Prayers Festival is to pray for world peace, good
health and generate conducive conditions for everyone to live in
harmony.
